It’s tennis lesson time! Summer Tennis lessons are offered for all adaptive youth beginning Wednesday, June 5th, 2019 . Do you need something active for your child to do over the summer? WAS provides tennis lessons to adaptive athletes of all ages. Come learn the sport of tennis from the WSU tennis coaches, 4-time Paralympic tennis medalist Nick Taylor, and number one US men's wheelchair player Casey Ratzlaff!

UCO Endeavor Games

The UCO Endeavor games are hosted in Edmond, OK. Wichita Adaptive Sports will be offering 10 grants to cover the registration fee for this event. UCO Endeavor offers multiple clinics and opportunities to participate in the games.

Events offered include: Archery, Air Rifle, Cycling, Power Lifting, Sitting Volleyball, Swimming, Table Tennis, Track and Field, Wheelchair Basketball and Wheelchair Softball.

Prior disability classification is required to participate in all events. Classification occurs Thursday, June 6th. Competitions are scheduled to begin Friday, June 7th.

The Air Capital Classic is a Wheelchair Tennis tournament hosted June 26-30 in Wichita KS. Paralympic Gold Medalist, Nick Taylor along with wheelchair tennis player, Grady Landrum will be hosting and assisting those not so familiar with the sport learn how to navigate and play tennis. A clinic will also be hosted throughout these days to teach tennis techniques and form while using a wheelchair.

ENTRY DEADLINE IS JUNE 17, 2019

There is $3,000 in prize money awarded to all division winners along with lodging for the first 25 participants who register.

THIS TENNIS TOURNAMENT IS A USTA SANCTIONED EVENT

WHO: YOU!!

WHAT: 1 mile fun run, 5k wheelchair & hand-cycle race, 5k open run/walk (amputees will be in a separate medaling category)

WHERE: Augusta, KS Shyrock Park (By the castle park at the lake)

WHEN: Saturday; August 10th Check-in begins at 7am

WHY: Supporting individuals with physical disabilities pursue an active lifestyle. A racing chair or running blade will be donated during the awards ceremony.

Located at Panther Stadium in Derby, KS the challenge games offer an array of Track and Field activities for youth of varying physical disabilities.  Track practice is hosted in Derby at Panther Stadium on Saturday mornings at 9am leading up to the Challenge games.

1st Annual Shoot and Scoot

This is a fundraiser for the Wichita Wildfire wheelchair basketball team. We are preparing to travel to play in tournaments in Kansas City and in Omaha in the next two months. Your support will help cover hotel and travel expenses. Donations can be pledged per basket/lap or made as a single donation.

You may donate by PayPal or credit card by clicking the donate button or by check. Please make sure to include, basketball fundraiser in the special notes online or on the memo line on checks. Donations made to Wichita Adaptive Sports are tax deductible.

Come join us for our Annual Meeting on January 12 at the Rhatigan Center for bowling, billards, and refreshments. The board meeting will begin at 11:30. Bowling, snacks and family fun will begin at 1:00pm. Attending the board meeting is NOT required to join in on the family fun beginning at 1pm! We look forward to seeing all of you there.

This event is open to anyone with a physical or cognitive disability.

will have an opportunity to explore booths that provide products &
services to the disabled community. Our goal is to bring together persons
with disabilities & the organizations, products, resources & programs to
assist them with leading full & productive lives.
